Price Tackles Rising Gas Costs on Local Business

The rising price of gasoline is no longer breaking news. Each week, headlines across America tell readers that the cost of fuel has risen to another record-breaking high. Everyone is feeling the pinch at the pump, from soccer moms to local business owners.

Rep. Tom Price (R-GA-6) met with local business owners and managers earlier today at the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce offices in Alpharetta, to discuss how the rising price of fuel is affecting their business practices.

“Everybody is in the transportation business,” said Price.

Sen. Hill Offers Congrats to Delta on Merger

Officials from Delta Airlines, based in Atlanta, and Northwest Airlines, based out of Eagan Minn., announced yesterday that the two airlines would be merging, creating an enterprise worth an estimated $17.7 billion.

The new airline will be called Delta, and according to a statement issued by Delta “will provide employees with greater job security, an equity stake in the combined airline, and a more stable platform for future growth.”

Carlos Martinez has taken to the fields to bring people awareness of a deadly disease that will claim the lives of an estimated 40,000 women this year.

Martinez is a kicker for the Georgia Force Arena Football team and last summer, while the rest of his teammates were resting during the off-season, Martinez was watching a friend and family member battle stage three ovarian cancer.

“I saw what she went through and I found out that there is not a test for early detection,” he said.

Northside Hospital Offers New Advancements in Mammography

Northside Hospital is now offering an MRI to detect ruptures in silicone gel-filled
breast implants. The service is now available at Northside Hospital-Atlanta,
Northside/Johns Creek Imaging and Northside/Alpharetta Imaging.

Recently, the Food and Drug Administration approved the marketing of silicone gel-filled breast
implants made by two companies for breast reconstruction in women of all
ages and breast augmentation in women ages 22 and older. The FDA recommends
that women with these implants receive regular screening MRI examinations

Metro Traffic Jeopardizes Business Development

A recent study commissioned by the State of Georgia shows that the state is losing out to other Southeastern states when businesses consider incentives to relocate.

Dennis Donovan of Wadley-Donovan-Gutshaw Consulting recently addressed the issue of Atlanta’s traffic situation and how it relates to prospective businesses that may be considering Atlanta as a home base.

With 33 years of experience, Donovan is a Location Advisor to major firms such as American Express, Lucent Technologies, Lowe’s, CIGNA, Dun & Bradstreet, and Merck.

His comments about Atlanta were not encouraging.
