 <title>City Responds to Death of Local Woman</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;After nearly four days of speculation surrounding the death of a Johns Creek woman, city officials have released a statement.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;At a press conference conducted Wednesday by Johns Creek City Manager John Kachmar and Chief of Police Ed Densmore, a prepared statement read by Kachmar stated Darlene Dukes, 39, died in her Johns Creek home at 602 Wales Drive in the St. Andrews apartment complex off Jones Bridge Road. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The death occurred Sat., Aug. 2. Dukes suffered a pulmonary embolism, not diabetic shock as originally confirmed by medical investigators.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Cell Phone Routing Linked to Woman’s Death</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;While official reports have not been released in the weekend death of the 33-year-old Johns Creek woman who died in her apartment home after placing an emergency call to Fulton County 911, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the name of the victim. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ms. Darlene Dukes died of causes that appear to be related to diabetes.  Her death certificate has not yet been made public, but her family has met with the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>BREAKING NEWS: 33-Year-Old JC Woman Dead </title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;News sources tell The Post that on Sat., Aug. 2, at approximately 1 p.m., a 33-year-old Johns Creek woman called 911 for medical care.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Her call was routed to the Fulton County 911 Emergency Dispatcher. However, her request for help was not received by the Fulton County Fire Department/EMS until 30 minutes later. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Forty-five minutes elapsed before Rural/Metro Ambulance Service received the call.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The woman allegedly died while waiting for care for complications from diabetes, say sources.&lt;/p&gt;

In the early hours of July 17, a Johns Creek police officer identified a man walking on State Bridge Road by the Target parking lot. The officer saw a long black object on the man’s back with a strap across the front, what initially appeared to be a rifle with a sling.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Former Attorney Arrested for Theft</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Johns Creek police are investigating whether or not a local man could be linked to a series of thefts in the community.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Phillip Strickland, 38, of Johns Creek was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly broke into several vehicles, stealing nearly $50,000 in merchandise.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“We are still investigating and don’t know what charges [Johns Creek] might bring,” said Capt. Brian Weaver, who heads up the Johns Creek Criminal Investigation Division.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>JC Woman Arrested for Illegal Dental Practice</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Johns Creek police have arrested a woman for running an illegal dentistry practice out of her home.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Claudinette Varon-Castro, 45, was arrested July 2 and charged with five felonies, including three counts of practicing dentistry without a license. Separate charges for possession and distribution of dangerous drugs were also filed. The arrest comes after a month-long investigation by local police.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to Capt. Brian Weaver, who heads up the Johns Creek Criminal Investigation Division, undercover officers were sent to the Varon-Castro’s home, pretending to be patients.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Five Charged with Sex Trafficking </title>

&lt;p&gt;Juan Cortes-Meza, 31, Francisco &quot;Paco&quot; Cortes-Meza, 25, Amador &quot;Javier&quot; Cortes-Meza, 34,  and Raul &quot;Oscar&quot; Cortes-Meza, 21, and Edison &quot;Caruso&quot; W. Rosa Tort, 69 were all pleaded not guilty. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“Human trafficking violates basic human rights and will not be tolerated,” said United States Attorney David E. Nahmias.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Local Twosome Faces Multiple Drug Charges</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;A federal grand jury in Savannah has accused a local couple of illegally distributing prescription drugs and anabolic steroid paraphernalia. Christian and Jennifer Navoy of Roswell were arrested in May for distributing prescription medications through three separate Web sites.&lt;br /&gt;
According to U.S. Attorney Edmund Booth the Navoys were indicted on seven counts, including charges of introducing misbranded drugs into interstate commerce and mail fraud.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>JCPD Provides &quot;SHIELD&quot; to Local Businesses </title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Johns Creek Police Department has rolled out its first Community Service program title, SHIELD. The program offers crime prevention and education that connects area businesses with each other and the JCPD.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The program free and simple to join, a business owner or manager fills out an application, providing essential Emergency Contact Information to the JCPD, and then makes sure it&#039;s kept up-to-date.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“If a crime or incident involving a SHIELD business occurs, the JCPD will have an efficient way of contacting them,” said Sgt. Debbie Kalish, head of Community Services.&lt;/p&gt;

Johns Creek police were called to Best Bank in Johns Creek after the branch manager suspected fraudulent activity. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The manager told an officer that a woman had come into the branch in July and opened an account under the fictitious name Theresa Kabeler. She had given the bank two false ID cards, including a fake social security card.&lt;/p&gt;
