 <description>&lt;p&gt;The start of school means autumn is just around the corner and fall is the perfect time to get outdoors, and appreciate the beauty of nature.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Chattahoochee Nature Center has more than two miles of woodland and river boardwalk trails, each with its own unique sights and sounds. There are resting spots on the trails that allow hikers to take a breath and enjoy the seclusion.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Alpharetta to Host Old Milton Country Fair</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Alpharetta Lions Club, Alpharetta Historical Society and the City of Alpharetta will offer up some foot-stompin’, good old-fashioned family fun at the Old Milton Country Fair, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat. and Sun., Sept. 13 - 14.    &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Southern barbecue, live bluegrass, country music and demonstrations will highlight the fair, which will take place at the Historic Log Cabin on the old Milton High School grounds (Milton Center) at 86 School Drive in Historic Downtown Alpharetta. Admission and parking are free to the public.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Local Boys Present Check to Nature Center</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Kiedrich Kromp wanted to do something that would help raise awareness for animals and nature. The young philanthropist decided to create an informal club at his school and his friend, Cody Lamanac, quickly jumped on board.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The two boys began generating ideas on what they could do and decided on “The Animal and Nature Society Club” to help take care of wildlife. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The pair invited friends from their school to join and began raising money by holding a yard sale for an organization that worked with animals.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>ASO Offers Free Concert at Encore Park in Alpharetta</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s (ASO) 2008 Starbucks Free Parks Concert Series includes a performance at the Orchestra’s new summer home -- the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The concert is free to the public in large part to major funding provided by the Fulton County Commission under the guidance of the Fulton County Arts Council.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;ASO Assistant conductor Mei-Ann Chen will lead the concert on Thurs., Aug. 14, at 8 p.m.  This event replaces the former free concert held at Wills Park.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Local Organizations, Communities Support Dream House </title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Many local churches and civic organizations are reaching out to support The Dream House, an organization that provides care and support for some of Georgia’s sickest children. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Dream House, based in Lilburn, provides services to 37 Georgia counties. They are working to provide a framework and training to various state institutions and individual entities across the U.S. who are aware of the success of Dream House and need to duplicate it locally. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Since its inception in 2001, Dream House has served more than 820 families caring for over 830 medically fragile children in Georgia. &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Northside Hospital Hosts Community Blood Drives</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Throughout the year, Northside Hospital hosts community blood drives at each of its hospitals in Atlanta, Forsyth and Cherokee.  According to the&lt;br /&gt;
American Red Cross, about four million people need blood each year in the United States, which equates to one person every two seconds.  The need for blood is ongoing because unused blood has an expiration of 42 days.&lt;/p&gt;
