 <title>Northview Wrestling Begins</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Junior Titan Wrestling program will begin Oct. 14, each Tuesday and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. for ages 5 to 14.  New or experienced wrestlers from all area schools are welcome.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Northview&#039;s programming features five-level-tier coaching to support its athletes at every level of experience.  The Wrestling Club is taking it up a notch this season to ensure that every athlete&#039;s needs and so they become champions on and off the mat. Emphasis will be placed on training Junior wrestlers for competition today and eventual success for a high school program.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Forsyth students collect books for sick children</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Student organizations at North Forsyth High School collected 723 new and gently used children’s books for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Read Out and Read program.    &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Thanks to generous community donations and projects, like the one conducted at North Forsyth High School, every child who comes to Children’s Healthcare gets a book to read and when they go home, so does the book making the visit as little less scary for the child.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Forsyth Schools Excel in ACT Scores</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Forsyth County Schools&#039; (FCS) student performance on the 2007-2008 ACT exceeded state and&lt;br /&gt;
national scores for all content areas.  Additionally, South Forsyth High School was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education for having one of the top 25 highest composite scores in the state. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This performance comes in a year where the national scores have taken a slight decline. The ACT is a curriculum-based college entrance exam that is universally accepted by four-year colleges and universities.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;GLMA and GAIT co-sponsor the Georgia School Library Media Specialist of the Year award to recognize K-12 library media specialists whose services have resulted in exemplary library media programs.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;A Rally for Energy Independence for Georgia took place Wednesday at the State Capitol and Johns Creek resident Ashley Widener played an integral role in its success, calling on government systems to find alternative energy solutions.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“We are at a pivotal crossroads in our society regarding energy. It is not the first time Georgians have been faced with an energy crisis, but I ask our leaders in Washington to insure that this will be the last. Our children’s future is at stake,” Widener said.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Forsyth County Schools Welcome 300 new teachers </title>

&lt;p&gt;This week was the system&#039;s annual New Educator Orientation (NEO), which began on July 30 at West Forsyth High School. The NEO is the new educators&#039; first introduction to the Forsyth County school system and provides them an overview of the system as well as the chance to meet and mingle with more than 100 area vendors.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Education Briefs: An Overview of Back-to-School Changes for Fulton County</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Summer is coming to an end for thousands of Fulton County students and their families. The new school year begins Monday, Aug. 11.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Fulton County School System continues to be the fourth largest school district in Georgia with a projected 2008-2009 enrollment of nearly 88,500 students. This is an expected increase of approximately 2,500 students from the previous school year. The system includes 55 elementary schools, 19 middle schools, 15 high schools and five start-up charter schools.&lt;/p&gt;
