 <title>Fulton Schools Release Stakeholder Results</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Shortly after coming on board as Fulton County’s Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Cindy Loe created the Stake Holder survey as a way to receive community input. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The results of the survey have now been released with more than 2,800 school system parents, teachers and staff responding to the survey.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Questions on the survey asked participants what they thought school system performed best, concerns they might have, and what one change they would like to see made. Of the respondents, more than 240, or, 8.5 percent said they didn’t have any concerns. Specific answers included:&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Fulton Schools Named Among Top 100 Most Musical Systems </title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Fulton County Schools has once again ranked among the top 100 schools in that nation to promote music among children.  For the ninth consecutive year, Fulton County ranked among the top 100 in a nationwide survey of public and private school music programs. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The annual survey identifies the top 100 places to live in America for quality music education. Fulton County is one of only two school systems in the nation to be recognized all nine years the annual survey has been taken.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Fulton School Board Schedules Millage Rate Hearings </title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The Fulton County Board of Education will hold three public hearings in order to allow the public to review the proposed 2009 budget. The Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights requires the board to hold these hearings due to the fact that the tentative budget does not include a full millage rollback to offset increases in property assessments.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Fulton School Board Releases Proposed Redistricting </title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The final recommendations for the North Fulton redistricting have been released. The rezoning, which will take affect during the 2009-2010 school year, has been the subject of discussion and debate since mid-April when parents began meeting to give their input.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to Fulton County Board of Education member Ashley Widener, the system received thousands of documented concerns, questions and recommendations from parents and community members. The school system conducted three community meetings in conjunction with the changes in attendance zones.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Alpharetta, Dunwoody Welcome New Principals</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;School is out for the summer, but when students at two local schools return in August they will be greeted with new faces. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Fulton County School System has the appointed of two new principals to two North Fulton Schools. Ivy Gainey is the new principal of Dunwoody Springs Charter Elementary School, and Mary Anne Charron will now serve as principal of Alpharetta High School.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Johns Creek citizens packed the house Wednesday night to hear Speaker Pro Tem Mark Burkhalter and Fulton County School Superintendent Dr. Cindy Loe speak on education and state issues. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Burkhalter and Loe were invited by Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker to speak during the mayor’s regular bi-monthly Town Hall meeting. Both Loe and Burkhalter first made comments and then answered questions from citizens, discussing changes in state policy, taxes, county politics and school rezoning. &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Pernice Named Ocee Elementary Principal</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Deborah Pernice has been named Ocee Elementary School’s new principal. She will replace Jan Linscott, who is retiring at the end of the school year.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Pernice is currently the assistant principal at Medlock Bridge Elementary School. Before moving to Georgia in 1993, she taught elementary school in New York for 12 years. She also was a teacher and special education assistant at Crabapple Crossing Elementary School and a teacher at Sweet Apple Elementary School. She joined Medlock Bridge as an assistant principal in 2004.&lt;/p&gt;
