 <title>JC Founders Day Expands to Week-Long Celebration</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Johns Creek is planning to expand its Founders Day celebration, marking the anniversary of the City’s incorporation. Organizers are expanding the city party to a full week, culminating in the Founders Day Parade on Sat.,, Dec. 6. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Several thousand people turned out for last year’s event, a day-long affair that featured a parade down State Bridge Road, a visit with Santa at Newtown Park, and culminated with a music and&lt;br /&gt;
holiday light extravaganza at Johns Creek&#039;s city hall, featuring performances by students of Johns Creek’s award-winning schools.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Johns Creek Fire Department launches Tues., Oct. 7 </title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;After nearly a year of planning, the new Johns Creek Fire Department becomes official Tuesday, Oct. 7, 7 a.m. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The new Department’s 78 Johns Creek firefighting professionals will assume fire protection and emergency response services from the Fulton County Fire Department, which has served the North Fulton community for more than 30 years. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;With the transition, Johns Creek takes over three Fulton County stations: Fulton County Station&lt;br /&gt;
No. 12 (10265 Medlock Bridge Parkway) becomes Johns Creek Station No. 1; Fulton County Station&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Golf Seminar Offered for JC Enthusiasts</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Alpharetta resident and PGA Master Golf Professional, Bill Barkey, will be giving a dynamic golf seminar on &quot;The Ultimate Golf Swing&quot;  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The seminar is open to Johns Creek, North Fulton and Forsyth area residents and will be held Thursday, Sept. 25 and Monday, Sept. 29 at the Doubletree Hotel/Roswell. The cost is $10. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Several 90-minute seminars will be held throughout the day at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>100th Baby Born at Northside Forsyth</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Last Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, Northside Hospital-Forsyth welcomed its 100th baby, born in the hospital’s new Women’s Center. Baby girl Ramsey Smith arrived at 3:32 p.m.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;“We are so delighted to have had Ramsey at the new Northside Hospital-Forsyth Women’s Center,” said new mom Kam Smith. “Our experience could not have been better.”&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Ramsey was the third baby born to Kam and her husband Brian.  The family resides in Dawsonville, Ga. Ramsey joins the family with her brother Wyatt and sister Blake.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Dr. Seuss Throws &#039;Hat&#039; in Political Ring</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Coinciding with the 2008 presidential election, Dr. Seuss is throwing his own “hat” into the ring through a release the first-ever political print editions. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Featuring imagery from politically charged artworks, books and editorial cartoons, the Dr. Seuss for President art exhibition offers an unusual glimpse into the socio-political minded imagination from the world’s most celebrated icon of popular culture. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The exhibition will be featured at Ann Jackson Gallery located in Roswell beginning Fri., Sept. 19 and will run through the November elections.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Entering into their 8th year with the City of Alpharetta Recreation &amp;amp; Parks Department, the Rhythm n’ Shoes Dance Program, run by Peri Sanders and held at the Alpharetta Community Center, offers children a variety of dance forms to suit any taste and ability.   &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Recital and non-recital classes run the duration of the school-year, beginning in August and concluding with an annual recital. Non-recital class sessions run 10 - 13 weeks.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Poll Workers Needed for November Elections</title>

Those interested can attend one of several upcoming informational Meet and Greet sessions. The Meet and Greet sessions are scheduled: &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Tues., Aug. 26, 10 a.m.&lt;br /&gt;
Wed., Aug. 27, 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.&lt;br /&gt;

Wed., Sept. 3, 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.   &lt;/p&gt;
