 <title>Price Tackles Rising Gas Costs on Local Business</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The rising price of gasoline is no longer breaking news. Each week, headlines across America tell readers that the cost of fuel has risen to another record-breaking high. Everyone is feeling the pinch at the pump, from soccer moms to local business owners. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Rep. Tom Price (R-GA-6) met with local business owners and managers earlier today at the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce offices in Alpharetta, to discuss how the rising price of fuel is affecting their business practices. &lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Perdue Announces Transportation Plan</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Gov. Sonny Perdue has announced a new statewide transportation plan he is calling “Investing in Tomorrow’s Transportation Today,” or IT3. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Perdue announced the plan during a press conference last Thursday. His plan is designed to develop a cooperative body among the Department of Transportation, Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA), the General Assembly. Also, local partners and the executive branch will work to develop strategies to will improve transportation infrastructure throughout Georgia.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;State Sen. Judson Hill (R-Marietta) has been re-appointed to serve another term as Chairman of the Georgia Senate Study Committee on Healthcare Transformation. Hill, who was elected to the Georgia Senate in 2004, was appointed Chair by Lt. Gov.Casey Cagle.  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The Healthcare Transformation Study Committee is responsible for creating policy that helps make healthcare and health insurance more accessible and affordable for to all of Georgia’s citizens.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;The “political animal” Hamilton Jordan died in his Atlanta home on Tuesday after a long battle with cancer at age 63.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Jordan was a the White House Chief of Staff under president Jimmy Carter. He had run both Carter’s campaigns for president and Governor of Georgia.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Democratic Party of Georgia Chair Jane Kidd and candidate for U.S. House of Representatives Bill Gillespie made a call today asking Republican presidential candidate, John McCain to stand up for veterans by supporting the 21st Century G.I. Bill of Rights, introduced in the U.S. Senate by Democrat Jim Webb (D-Va.).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If passed, the 21st Century GI Bill would continue the legacy of the GI Bill first established in 1944, by helping returning veterans obtain higher education in preparation for success in the private sector.&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Local Senator Takes on Genetic Challange </title>

When three-year-old Christopher was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, Emma wrote her state senator, Dan Moody (R-Johns Creek), a letter telling him how special her brother was.&lt;/p&gt;
