A federal grand jury in Savannah has accused a local couple of illegally distributing prescription drugs and anabolic steroid paraphernalia. Christian and Jennifer Navoy of Roswell were arrested in May for distributing prescription medications through three separate Web sites.
According to U.S. Attorney Edmund Booth the Navoys were indicted on seven counts, including charges of introducing misbranded drugs into interstate commerce and mail fraud.
The two allegedly sold the illegal prescriptions between 2002 and May through the Web sites researchchemist.com, pumpnpurpose.com and syntholdirect.com. The drugs included Sildenafil citrate, the active ingredient in Viagra.
If convicted the two could face up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines. The government also seeks forfeiture of four properties in Georgia, 11 vehicles and $78,000 in cash.
