City Gearing Up For Fire Department Roll Out

With the roll out of the new Johns Creek Fire Department just weeks away, the department is in the middle of a large recruitment process to staff the 78-member force.
The JCFD will host a Firefighter Job Fair set for Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Johns Creek City Hall located at 12000 Findley Road.
Much like the recent opening of the Johns Creek Police Department, the new fire department will come on-line and assume authority of fire and emergency protection services currently serviced by the Fulton County Fire Department. The Fulton County is currently serving Johns Creek through an intergovernmental agreement.
Fire Chief Joseph Daniels will lead the new Johns Creek Fire Department, which will be housed at three fire stations: Station 8 located at 3165 Old Alabama Road; Station 12 located at 10265 Medlock Bridge Road; and Station 20 located at 10925 Rogers Circle. The city is purchasing the three stations from Fulton County.
“Our goal is to provide professional fire and emergency services for the City of Johns Creek,” said Daniels. “We value the residents, businesses and visitors to our community and will proudly serve them.”
To coincide with a new Fire Department, the city is purchasing state-of-the-art fire equipment with two ladder trucks, three engines and two rescue transport-capable vehicles. A recent $30,000 grant from the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company will be used to purchase five thermal imaging cameras for the Department’s use.
Job applications and additional information on the new JCFD are available at johnscreekga.gov or from the City’s Human Resources Department at 678-512-3200.
