The Mathematics Textbook and Materials Adoption Committee is reviewing two new, proposed textbooks for high school calculus and statistics. For a 16-day period beginning April 14, the proposed textbooks can be reviewed at all Fulton County high schools.

The 16-day review period will allow parents and school system employees time to leave feedback and comment on book preferences. The committee will use the feedback to make the final recommendation regarding which textbook series to adopt.

The committee first met in October to review textbooks and other instructional resources to support programs in high school mathematics. The committee included representatives from Exceptional Children, ESOL and TAG, as well as parents, administrators and teachers from each grade level. The committee narrowed the textbook series to two selections for each course of study.

Once adopted by the school board, the selected textbook series will be used beginning with the 2008-09 school year.
